Just because this person is a staff member doesn’t mean that they aren’t human. This artist just mailed you as a person, not a “holier than thou” being, to let you that your comment hurt them; they did not personally attack you. In fact, they were nice enough to make this matter private through mail (as opposed to publicly on the forums). If anything, this “confession” is very unprofessional because it publicizes this whole fiasco. What excuses this member from being held to the same standards of courtesy as the artist?

Everyone has the right to speak honestly, but that doesn’t negate that these words affect people. Don’t like that people are unhappy about your criticism? Why look it here, you have feelings too… just like the artist.

ALSO. THIS WHOLE CONFESSION LEAVES YOU OPEN TO CRITICISM ON TUMBLR. Just sayin’.
